Bates Roofing

Have a flat roof and Bate's Roofing performed repairs on it (torch down), installed a new sky light, and did just a fantastic job. It's been about a year since those repairs. We were impressed with owner and crew.

Great company! Very professional, on time and had my roof done in one day. They replaced some of the plywood, explained why it has gone bad and added vents to keep it from happening again. They showed me the damage and made the cost to fix very clear before proceeding. These guys know roofs and they kept all the costs to a minimum. I will recommend them to everyone!

High quality materials used throughout. I especially liked the extensive use of metal flashing on all roof edges, corners and in roof gulleys. Installation crew worked hard and expertly. I found Bates during a google search for euroshield rubber roofing in Tacoma and I'm glad we went with them. My father-in-law and I ended up replacing each of our roofs with Bates at the same time and we both had a great experience from start to end. I replaced a concrete tile roof that looked like cedar with a beautifully elegant rubber euroshield shake roof.

We have a custom house with a complex roof and Bate's expertise and experience is apparent as Bates fixed our dead valleys. We get quite a bit of shade so we're looking forward to the algae-resistance. Also, we're pleased that the douglas squirrels that lived in the outer part of the roof are also gone. Apparently, our new permanent low-maintenance roof will settle a rich patina in a year (and stay that way) and I'm excited to see how it will look!

My father-in-law replaced an asphalt composite roof and the process was also smooth and his roof turned out beautiful too. We found the pricing competitive and straight-forward without any high pressure sales tactics. So much so that we had to apply pressure ourselves to convince my father-in-law that his leaking roof needed replacing. They were able to recycle the tile and pass some savings onto the customer that way too. Gutter replacement costs were also very reasonable.

Do not hesitate to hire this company Our journey with Bates 1. In 2019 we called Bates about a leaking skylight. Their extremely knowledgeable sales person looked at the roof put a little bit of caulk in a trouble spot, and made a longer term recommendation. Having just purchased the house we couldn't move forward however were really grateful for that initial act of caulking.

It probably took him two minutes and he was already up there for the initial assessment. That said not companies would not charge here. That really stuck with us 2. Fast forward to 2022 our roof needed replacing. Their bid was competitive and because of our experience with 2019 it was pretty much a no brainer. Crew that replaced our roof was fantastic, and efficient. Bates could have upsold us in a couple areas and they just didn't what they did is patiently answered my questions and I opted to upgrade to fully replace our skylights and then to contract them separately to replace our gutters Their office staff, Kelsey in particular, also just a joy to work with

There isn't even a 1-star rating. I live in a condo and my roof and my neighbors roof started leaking. I am on the board as well as my neighbor. Bates fixed his problem on the first visit, but mine kept leaking. They came like 5 times and ripped out my smoke stack (but told me that wasn't it) and didn't offer to replace that. They put materials here and there-that didn't work.

They said they were coming out to replace an entire area with plywood and shingles that would get it-and replace the insulation that was green from being wet so long thru all this. They came out and did none of that. Said they found a nail and that was it. The owner came to my door (he is a huge, angry man) and told me to take down the review off his website!

They actually took it down after he called me every day for days, demanding I take it down. I was advised to fill out a police report and get a restraining order! Then they sent our bill to collection. I never got an invoice or a bill from them and I am the treasurer! And then the neighbor gets a collection letter with interest yesterday! They didn't even finish until Dec-January! This is beyond belief! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Horrible!

The crew showed up on time ready to start work. They completed the job on time and were very professional. Cleaned up the debris and swept the yard with a magnet. If I need my roof replaced again I most certainly will use Bates Roofing again. Service: Roof installation

Bates Roofing did a great job on replacing the roof on our house. From the time the sales rep (Brad) came to the house to inspect and provide a quote for the work to the time the last piece of debris was picked up from the yard, everyone involved were professional, courteous and on-time. Once we accepted the quote, Brad kept us informed of the process, the estimated time to get the materials and scheduling the work.

The crew was very considerate of protecting the vegetation around our house and did a great job of cleaning everything up after they were done. The roof looks awesome and have gotten multiple complements from my neighbors.

Bate's Roofing has just completed their third roof for me. I've been very pleased with their work. They reroofed my primary residence several years ago. I subsequently had them reroof a rental property. This most recent job was on a house that I just purchased. We had some scheduling problems because of the recent extremely hot weather, however, I was kept apprised of the issue. The roof looks great! The crew was meticulous with the cleanup afterwards. I highly recommend Bate's Roofing!

Horrible customer service! Zero Stars - After sending $55,000 for a new commercial roof with a 20 year guarantee you would think when you call to report a leak they would be right out to fix it. Chris has been putting it off for over a month saying he was just to busy. Well how nice for them business is good but my brand new roof has been leaking for over a month. Final straw was today when I reached out again by text and he responded "fix your own f***** leak". Hows that for customer service and professionalism. Avoid at all costs!

I had Bates Roofing put a roof on my house last summer and it was a nightmare that continues to haunt me. First, I coordinated with the people who rent my house to have the roof replaced during the week they would be out of the house on vacation. Bates roofers showed up one week earlier than we agreed and started working on the house without contacting me to ask permission.

I was floored! They claimed it was forecasted to rain the following week. As it turned out, it rained during the time they were replacing the roof. They didn't put enough plastic on the roof and it was pooring down rain in the livingroom. They offered to repair the line crack in the ceiling, but I didn't want them fixing anything else. On one side of the house the trim would not fit back on the house.

It turns out they cut the wood too wide. They had to cut the finshed roof and can tell it is a bit off. In the back of the house I noticed a big gap about one inch high and 5 feet long between the roof and the house. Birds or rats could have easily gotten in, Apparently there was some rot in the trim wood and they did not bother to tell me. They just left a big hole.

I refused to pay them until they closed the gap. They finally covered it up with a piece of flashing. Recently my renters pointed out that one of the basement windows is cracked. A large bush cover up the window so they did not notice the crack until much later. They said the roofer threw debris from the old roof into the yard and on top of the bushes. They believe the debris cracked the window. With these guys, that figures.

Zero stars for 0 customer service, that's how I would describe Bate's roofing, completely in contrast to the claim on their website. I recently purchased a home roofed by Bate's roofing which had improperly placed flashing at the chimney ( as noted by the inspector and a contractor) and a leak there. I called Bate's repeatedly, dealt with two workers, Bill and Chris, both of whom blew me off again and again -they knew I was a single woman, perhaps didn't take me seriously?

Finally after over 8 weeks of this, I called the office and the receptionist said she would have the owner call me. nope! The next I heard Bill and Chris had checked the flashing without my knowledge or consent (trespassing?) And as Chris so eloquently put it "we ain't gonna do nothing about it". This sums up their overall attitude and ethic. Avoid this company like the plague as I've told anyone I can via word of mouth and social media.

I didn't have roofing business with Bate's, but a different kind of association. I must say, they are very professional and honest in their dealings. They responded to my request in timely manner, and went above and beyond to deliver good service.
