CLOW Roofing & Siding

These people are not only careless, but also do not bother to respond. Their workers thrashed my and my neighbors plants, moved things around without permission and when I contacted them instead of this review, they didn't even bother to respond. If you want to hire a company that has zero respect for people around them, and upset your neighbors, be my guest; however, people who are disrespectful and unprofessional to others will also do the same to you.

Clow Roofing & Siding did a roof repair on my roof in 2017, installed some new flashing and shingles. I now have water leaking into my attic at the location of their repair. Mold and dry rot that stinks up my sons bedroom. When I called to ask them about their warranty, they said they would look into it and call me back. Crickets. I don't recommend Clow Roofing & Siding.

30 years ago Clow replaced our low (2x12) pitched roof with a new built up roof. The roof was warrantied for 15 years. We chose to paint the roof with a special silver paint instead of using pebbles at Clow's advice and repeated the process every 5 years. After 15 years the roof was still in excellent condition. We continued with regular annual cleaning and inspections.

The roof remained in excellent condition until this year, but finally showed signs of impending failure. We again invited bids from Clow as well as 4 other contractors. Clow was very competitive but the thorough explanation of the new material from Jeff Hansen (TPO over nearly 2 inches of fire resistant foam insulation) swayed our decision to hire Clow.

The other contractors told us that we would also have to replace the plywood decking, which would have cost another $5000, but the old roof was so well installed that the crew from Clow found none of the original decking (over 50 years old) required replacement. Clow's crew were very friendly and cleaned up every day before they left and completed the installation before the terrible June heat wave (110, 113, 116 degrees).

The new roof immediately paid dividends; our central air kept the house (upstairs) at 72 while the first floor was almost too cold! All summer we have used the central air far less despite the hot weather! We highly recommend Clow to anyone requiring roof installation, repair and maintenance. Our thanks again to Jeff and the Crew for a great new roof!

Had a new roof installed and gutters replaced by Clow Roofing. They did an excellent job while also using quality materials. Very competitive pricing as well. Doug Baker was easy to communicate with and was great to work with.

Justin and David showed up on time and installed 6 skylights and 3 vents into my existing roof. They were professional, polite, and did great work. They communicated well and cleaned up prior to completion. The price was fair as well. If I need Roofing or Siding work in the future I will call them back.

This is all pre-COVID by about a year. Clow is the worst. The guy who gave the bid was nice to work with and very capable. After that it was a drag. We waited months to get the actual work done and could not get a call back no matter how many messages I left. When we did get the work done, the roof vent installation was sloppy, the flashing was badly tied into the existing structure and the off cuts were left on the roofing membrane! To top it off I found a pair of rusty tin snips on the membrane as well which is an indicator of how thorough that final inspection was.

I was glad to work with Clow Roofing - they were friendly, fast and easy to work with, coscientious with high attention to detail. After the first heavy rains this year, we discovered moisture in our gable closets. Doug, the owner himself, came out for the inspection and bid, while David was the tech onsite. They confirmed where the moisture was getting in, repaired or redid the shoddy, inside out and backwards work from the previous crew (hired by the previous property management company) and went a step further in touching up a few other possible points of entry, all the way down to nails holes.

We had such a great experience with Clow. They gave us a very competitive price after many quotes. Their crews worked incredibly hard to get our roof totally redone in the rainy season and coordinated seamlessly with our solar installation. Huge thank you to your entire team!

My brother referred me to Clow Roofing. My husband was impressed with Dougs attention to detail and particular questions he had about our roof and appreciated that he got on our roof and checked things out personally. Both Doug and Elena were very helpful with any questions we had in between waiting for our roof to be scheduled and when it was going to start. Daniel and his crew were really nice.

They were happy to work with our mornings and didn't start until after 8, which was very much appreciated. They did a great job, worked quickly and even finished ahead of schedule. We appreciated their clean up job as well. Our new roof has given our house a face lift. Doug even had someone come out and add a little bit of flashing to the side of the house so rain wouldn't hit the side of the house affecting the siding. Thank you to everyone at Clow Roofing!

Clow came out and patched a hole in the roof of my garage. I had an old electric service mast removed and needed someone to patch the hole. No other company was willing to give me a quote for what I consider a pretty straightforward repair. Clow gave me a reasonable quote and offered to be flexible in scheduling. Happy with the work they did and the money I paid.

We can't say enough about how great it was to work with Clow Roofing. Not having to find a roof contractor before, we were a bit nervous about finding a reputable outfit. Our chimney repairman recommended Clow along with two others and we chose this firm based on the professional service we received even though the bid was in the middle of the three. Doug Baker, one of the owners and an estimator, pointed out deficiencies of the old roof that the other two companies overlooked and saw to it that the job was done correctly and exactly as was outlined.

The finished product is terrific (our remodeling contractor was very impressed) and the workers were very pleasant, thorough, and didn't leave a scrap of debris behind. There are a lot of companies out there vying for business but we solidly stand behind this outfit. Great service, reasonable price, and a wonderful finished product. -- Lewis (Portland, OR)

Very friendly and quick to respond to my roof leak. The estimator came out within a couple days, was very knowledgeable, and quoted me the next business day. They made me feel at ease and I will not need to be home while they repair my roof. They work with their customers. I highly recommend them to others in need of a roof or repair.

I called clow in early may 2017, got a quote a week or so later. By early november (6 months) they had still not done the work. This is with me calling regularly to ask when the work would get done. By the end of november they had performed only part of the work and did a poor job. Very little communication effort on their part. This company gave me the cheapest quote in town.

They are clearly not well managed and in the end i had to hire someone else to get the job done. Ive included a photo of clearly clogged and unclean gutters. This is AFTER they said they cleaned them. I would definitely not recommend using clow.

Representative did a VERY minimal inspection. He didn't step inside the house, check the attic, or even go on the roof. Sent me an estimate via email. Here's an idea for how their bid stacked up; I got 6 estimates for a full re-roofing and the bids I received were as follows: $13g $15g $15g $15.8g $16.5 and $26.7 (CLOW) It's pretty clear what the real cost of doing my roof is, and there's Clow at the bottom, over $10g higher for the exact same service. Also, it took around a full week to get my estimate in the email, whereas with everyone else, I had it within 24 or 48 hours.

The customer service wasn't the best, the inspection was minimal/low effort, and estimate was very obviously overpriced. Simply put, they are not the right company for me. But good luck!

I pretty much never take the time to write yelp reviews, but I had to make an exception after an experience with Jeff at Clow roofing. They didn't show up to do the work within the timeframe promised, and when I complained, Jeff was pretty rude on the phone and hung up on me. I know it was a small job, but why couldn't you just tell me you didn't want the work in the first place and not waste my time? You guys suck!

Very satisfied customer here. I collected several quotes and not only was Clow's price on the lower side, the work they quoted seemed more comprehensive. It took some time to get the work scheduled, but they told me when I hired them that there would be a wait. Once they started work, it was done quickly and it looks great. They also cleaned up very thoroughly - I didn't find one shred of trash or any mark that they'd been there. Thank you!

My husband & I had siding replaced, great company. Best price out of 3 estimates. Doug was patient with our questions & concerns. Lonny was dependable, knowledgeable & a hard worker, he always went the extra mile for us with our many requests. Crew always kept property clean & tidy & showed care when we had a party in the middle of installation. We would definitely recommend Clow Roofing & Siding.

Our 1924 bungalow style Laurelhurst home was due. Way over due. We got several opinions from several companies. Sadly, and in addition to a wide range estimates of price, many of their recommendations (especially on venting) contradicted each other. Doug from Clow seemed to know his business more than all of them combined. Because of this, we knew we wanted to go with him, and as an owner he had more at stake than a salesperson who might quit before the job was done.

We had the original roof covered by 3 other layers, making a real mess of a tear-down process but Clow's team was both cost- and time-efficient. We were referred by family and friends to Clow and have already referred two others to them as well. The only problem we had was with scheduling. As someone who works from home and unable to do so during the new roof installation, i really needed to have dates set in stone.

That in addition to their scheduling department not getting back to me was very frustrating. As I later learned, concrete dates are hard to set in this business. When I complained to Doug directly for his office not getting back to me, he asked me to contact him directly and from that point onward all was fine. I still give 5 stars for the end result being done so well and for Doug taking responsibility for his team's mishaps. Apparently, mishaps are going to happen in this and many contracting situations, but if you own up to it, apologize, and fix it, I'm all for giving top ratings.

My company has been using Clow Roofing & Siding for a couple of decades now and their work speaks for itself. Their prices are slightly higher than the competition but in this case you definitely get what you pay for. My personal residence roof was damaged by a landscaping company's dump truck and Clow came out the same day to assess the damages. When they repaired my roof you could not tell anything was ever wrong with it. Clow is awesome!

I just needed Gutters and I was referred to Clow roofing. They quickly came out and did a look around and gave me a fair price. The Estimator was very Professional and even though they were a little bit higher I felt good about the decision to go with them. The installation went well and the workers cleaned up their work and even re-attached a couple of Cable cords that hadn't been installed correctly by my Satellite Company. I know it wasn't a high volume order, but I was made to feel important and that my job mattered. I Highly recommend Clow Roofing and Gutter Replacement!

I had a great experience with Clow Roofing and Siding. Denny returned my call right away, and was able to come out and investigate the leak in the roof. Scheduling was easy, and Justin came out promptly and fixed the original leak -- plus a new one -- efficiently. Everyone was very easy to work with, helpful, and professional. They explained the problems clearly, and fixed them quickly. I would definitely recommend Clow Roofing.

John was my salesman, and he was very friendly and honest. The crew did a great job with the installation of my new roof - very professional and courteous. I also had them repair a leaking window (not related to the roof), that nobody else was able to fix. They took good care of our home and treated us like family. I'd call them again.

I was pleased with the work done by the crew at Clow Roofing. I liked that I could clarify the bid with Denny initially and Vern came to look over the job the day before the crew came and talked with me about how they would proceed with the partial replacement. It was good that they involved me in the process and I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends with roofing needs.
