George (Chip) A. McDavid is a Roofing Contractor. He started our company with little more than the shirt on his back or should we say "a hatchet in his pouch" in 1977. Chip is past president of the North Central Florida Roofing (FRSA) and Sheet Metal Association and a past Board of Director for the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association.
TAMKO Building Products has been providing a full line of the finest roofing products since 1944. The Company was originally named after the five states they saw to be their biggest areas of distribution: Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Overtime, however, they have grown to be one of the nation's largest roofing product manufactures.

Years ago I had a major roofing company install a new roof. A lot of their business was industrial - my job was small potatoes. As soon as the roof was complete, they took off for a more lucrative job, and it was many weeks before they returned to clean up. Even then, they left some rubble and many many nails behind. In 2004;four hurricanes passed through Gainesville and we lost our roof; a friend in the building trades recommended McDavid.
We were very pleased with their work and their professionalism. In 2022 it was time for a new roof again, and McDavid completed the job in three days. It cost less than I had anticipated. The crew were friendly, polite, and very competent. I was home most of the time, and noticed that they talked little and worked steadily. I was amazed when they apologized for the mess - I don't see how you can tear a roof off a house without making a mess. On the afternoon of the third day they cleaned it all up down to the last scrap and even rehung the plants. I will recommend them to anyone who asks.

Great customer service is what comes to my mind when I think of McDavid Roofing. I needed a new roof or my home insurance company was going to cancel my insurance. I was referred to them by a neighbor of mine who had hired them to replace their roof. I contacted them and they were able to get my roof replaced before the insurance deadline. Christine and everyone involved were very professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
The crew that replaced my roof answered any questions that I had. I have been saying for a while that "customer service" is a dying art. There are some places that have not forgotten how to treat their customers and one is McDavid Roofing. Thank you so much for all that you did for me and for giving me a beautiful roof!

The business operation is very professional. First day of work was a full crew and went quickly. The next 10 days there were two workers. Took numerous breaks and long lunches. They were very proficient in sitting in garage if van smoking and texting. Work went on forever. Left tools and debris in yards. Neighbors complained. Quality of new roof is very good.

These guys are wonderful. Very punctual, the whole crew acted as a team, the McDavids were on site and they cleaned up every day. I highly recommend this roofer to anyone in the Gainesville & surrounding communities. Oh, and their price was reasonable when compared to the 3 other estimates I got. Thank you Chip( owner ), Chase ( crew forman, Christie ( office ) & all the crew.
