We are a 5th generation, family-owned company. The Crowther family originated in Glasgow, Scotland, and came to America by way of Ellis Island to settle in Joliet, Illinois, where Alexander Crowther and Thomas H. Crowther found lots of work. Thomas started Crowther Roofing Company in 1955. Lee J Crowther joined his Dad in the business shortly afterward.

Lee J. and his brother Scott became the company's principals in the early 1970s and became Crowther Roofing and Sheet Metal in Fort Myers, Florida, in 1974.
